Jovan Franklin is a Kansas City, Missouri-based pageant and modeling consultant who travels nationwide helping contestants, models, and titleholders develop the confidence, skills, and strategy needed to compete at the highest level. In addition to in-person coaching, she works virtually with clients across the United States and internationally, mentoring young women of all ages in interview, stage presence, modeling, branding, and personal development.

A graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Marketing, Jovan has combined her background in media with more than 20 years of experience in the pageant industry to build one of the Midwest’s premier coaching businesses. She is no stranger to the spotlight, having held titles including Miss Black Kansas 2008, Mrs. Essence 2010, Mrs. Kansas US Universal 2016, and she currently serves as Mrs. Missouri Galaxy 2026 as she prepares to compete for the international title.

Her pageant journey also led her into the world of fitness, where she earned the title of 3rd Runner-Up in bikini competition in 2017. Today, she channels that same discipline and competitive mindset into developing confident, authentic competitors both on and off the stage.

Jovan’s passion for coaching began when her daughter, Brooklyn Franklin, captured her first national title at just six years old. Since then, Brooklyn has gone on to earn one international title and three national titles while building a successful career as a runway and print model, fashion designer, entrepreneur, and social media influencer. Their shared journey has given Jovan a unique perspective as both a competitor and a pageant mom, allowing her to guide families through every step of the pageant experience.

Beyond pageantry, Jovan specializes in personal branding and social media strategy, helping clients grow their online presence, secure brand collaborations, expand their platforms, and create opportunities that extend far beyond the competition stage. Her coaching philosophy centers on authenticity, preparation, confidence, and empowering every client to become the very best version of themselves.
